126 billion yuan in half a year: the alloy maker building in Morocco

Bowei Alloy's 2026 interim report shows revenue of 12.636 billion yuan, up 23.62% year on year, with new materials contributing 10.825 billion yuan, up 36.42% and more than 86% of the total. Bars, strip, fine wire and wire together reached 135,200 tonnes.

Growth came from both volume and higher copper prices, with cost of sales rising faster than revenue. Net profit in new materials still grew 14.70%, which the company attributes to a higher share of high-value products for AI server high-speed links, storage, liquid cooling and semiconductors.

A company filing moves the planned 30,000-tonne special alloy strip plant from Ningbo to Nador, Morocco, with investment of up to USD 150 million, citing tariff policies and international customers' demand for shorter lead times. Completion is now scheduled for December 2028, alongside existing sites in Germany, Vietnam and Canada.
